-Create the Reading Workshop framework - All DRAFT CREATED

-Create the Word Study framework - All DRAFT CREATED

-Discuss Communication/Research - All WE HAVE DECIDED TO EXCLUDE THIS PORTION FROM OUR FRAMEWORK

-Discussion of Lakota visit - Angie, Kate and Renee

  • Classrooms ran readers and writer's workshop very similarly, had similar language and structure
  • Children were independent and were able to articulate exactly what they were doing
-Share Westerville Resource - Julie FORMAT FOR SHARING WITH TEACHERS IN THE FUTURE

-Discuss ideas about how we roll this out; get input from group - Kate and Julie

  • Possibly at the May 12th Early Release - celebration, where are we going next
  • Present what we have to the Board (Lit Dev Group and Bookroom Coordinators) with the understanding that everything is a work in progress
  • When is May Board Meeting? Proposal of documents ready by last week of April to send to Board Members electronically
-Discuss Lit group for next year - All
  • Two representatives from each elementary building (1 primary, 1 intermediate)
  • $1000 stipend per person
  • Lit group meets, is always 1 step ahead of what you are leading in your buildings
  • MS still come to meetings, but roll out of literacy development group will begin possibly 11-12

-What were the group's thoughts about the Instructional Strategies website - All

-Create Professional Resource recommendation list - All

-Budget recommendations for PD - All

  • Budget for sub time that includes MS Reps and IS
  • 1 summer meeting and 1 whole day meeting per month
  • MS - resources for the department

-Take a look at the Elementary Assessment Calendar - All
-Discuss Lucy Calkins workshop - Julie, Kate and Shelley

  • Taking F&P resources and making them more concrete
  • Consistency throughout a large district
  • Valuable as a resource, but not as a prescribed program
